John Denver is a popular singer and songwriter who has touched many people through his music. Most of his songs are based on Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell, New Mexico. He was enthralled by Colorado and eventually settled in Aspen. Denver's popular songs about his adopted state brought many people to Colorado. G. Brown of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame says the fact that John Denver is unlike any other performer who has the recognizable image of Colorado. Denver was the very initial Hall of Fame inductee in the year 2011. Denver is now the embodiment of Colorado to the everyone around the world. When I travel, you may meet people at opposite sides of the planet. For example people who is from New Zealand. And when someone asks you if you're originally from Colorado you will get "Oh John Denver!" Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads was one of Denver's top 10 singles following a performance with a small folk music bands. It was co-written and performed by Bill Danoff. Danoff initially wrote the song using Johnny Cash's songs with a focus on Johnny Cash, however Denver knew from the first time he heard the early versions that the song would be a big popular. The song was performed on stage in Washington D.C. to a massive crowd, Denver recorded it just days from now.
