Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer famous for his distinctive blend with soul-jazz R&B as well as R&B. She has appeared on stages all over the world, from Broadway and The Democratic National Convention to the European music scene and the club scenes. Sunshine was born Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta, she originates from Chester Pennsylvania where she began her music career by singing and playing piano in churches. She went to Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her musical apprenticeship within the city's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single with her vocals was called Stalk You a house 12 issued exclusively in Japan and has since been remixed by numerous producers, and has become a part of her live set. Her voice also appeared on the soundtrack to The Fighting Temptations. In 2005she took on the role of the drummer in Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who had worked on the stage production Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, she was approached by Tyler Perry to be the choral leader for the production. Sunshine was noticed by America during daily performances of four at 2008's Democratic National Convention. Sunshine continued to receive recognition when she was invited to sing for President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
