Jeanie Marie Buss was born in the United States. She is the owner of control of the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association and currently acts as the association's president. Buss is an California native who grew in a well-off family. Jerry Buss, her father was a businessman in real estate who became owner of Lakers Entertainment and Sports. Her parents parted ways in 1972 which made her feel that she was emotionally abandoned. When she was 19 years old, she was appointed the General Manager for the Los Angeles Strings, a professional tennis team. Later, she established her own Los Angeles Blades pro roller hockey team. She served as the president of the Great Western Forum, before becoming Vice president of the Lakers. Buss, her five sisters and brothers, as well as their father who owned the Lakers and ruled them until his death in 2013, inherited the ownership via a trust. They each were entitled to equally vote rights. She took on the role as president of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss also co-owns Women of Wrestling, a professional promotion of wrestling with its headquarter at Los Angeles.
